So, Lord willing, we’re set to have a Skype interview with a good ol’ Presbyterian paedobaptist, Rev. Mark Horne. Our discussion, which will be posted here, will take place sometime next week. In the meantime, while I compile a list of questions for him, is there anything that you would want to ask him? Rev. Horne has written a primer on the subject, Why Baptize Babies? He’s also penned a polemical defense of the position, which can be seen here.
What would you like to see me ask Rev. Horne? What do you think is the strongest argument for believer’s baptism? The strongest argument against infant baptism?
I’m looking forward to this and hope you are too.
Also, I’d like to arrange an interview with a credobaptist on this topic. Any suggestions?

What Scripture passage has most shaken your belief in pædobaptism? And how did you answer that doubt?
Pick me! I can demonstrate credobaptism is the logical conclusion of Mark Horne’s excellent theological framework.
Being a believer in infant baptism, I’d just ask how it feels to be right about this topic.
I understand the theological arguments for paedobaptism but can you exegete the baptism of unbelievers from the New Testament?
“What Biblical evidence do you bring forward to convince me that ‘All members of the covenant must receive the covenant sign?’”

I have a more serious one now: More of a practical question though, why is it that many churches that practice credobaptism currently seem more energetic and more engaged? Is this an accident of history or is there something about it that inherently fires up people?
I’d be curious to hear Rev. Horne’s answer, but one can definitely see energetic renewal-type movements amongst paedobaptists in history: Franciscans and Wesleyans, off the top of my head.
Hey all, sorry for my belated reply. I sent off a list of questions to Rev. Horne late last night. Hopefully we’ll be hearing back from him sometime soon about scheduling the interview. I’ll post the questions as soon as he approves them.
I’ve added your questions in if I didn’t already ask them! Thanks!
Andrew, I agree, I am just thinking about the present day. Perhaps we have to ask why those earlier movements were successful then.
Yeah, that is a good question.
