I can never *get* Lent

What did you give up for Lent?

That’s my standard-issue quip and it usually gets a chuckle in late-winter Canada if I execute it dryly enough. It’s also good because it gets me out of answering a question for which I never have a great answer. Sheesh, I don’t know. What should I give up? Given how wired up I am on caffeine all the time, that might seem like a logical choice for Lent. The problem is I’m usually so out of it on a weekday morning that I don’t realize Lent has started until after I’ve had a cup. After that there’s usually a sort of furious search for something. Inevitably I fail, so I give up nothing, well other than tennis. So for everyone (except Andrew, who gives up blogs for Lent) how do people here do Lent?
