According to Bene D, this is a pentecostal group that is laying hands on the famed Wall St. Bull (which is actually not on Wall St. itself – at least not when I was in NYC last). Says Bene D:

“I don’t think believe the intent here is to venerate or worship, but it comes across that way and this prayer display comes across as foolish. Most people would look at people laying hands on a statue and think of the bible story of the golden calf.”

It’s actually a picture that gave me a real reaction of disgust. Like seeing a picture of a severed head. Perhaps the intent here is not idolatry, but it sure looks like it. I know that there’s supposed to be a distinction between praying for and praying to, but still people…
