Will Gas Prices Choke Megachurches?

I think it’s an open question. So many churches with membership in thousands boast about (or at least acknowledge) that they are “commuter churches” where people will drive 30, 45, or even 60 minutes each way to come to their church. With gas prices causing people to reassess the trips that they take, will some start to realize that perhaps the supersized churches just aren’t worth it. All those big churches that are plopped down on the edge of a suburb and surrounded by sea of parking lots are going to start to look a tad anachronistic if fuel prices stay high.
