The Quantum Universe, God, and Time

I was listening to Ideas last night on CBC radio and they were talking about time as it relates to quantum mechanics and relativity. I don’t pretend to know much about these topics, but from what I gleaned time is, at most, a very elastic element of what is now called space-time and at the very least may be nothing but an elaborate trick of the mind. That’s right, one of the scientists, Julian Barbour, thinks time is an illusion.

If these ideas about time are true (and the underlying science does have a great deal of confirmation – relativity factors into the workings of your GPS), how would it affect the questions of whether God is in time our outside of it?
